Video as Storytelling - Am I ready to trek this new landscape?

What better way than to dive right in? So here you go, my first video which explains what I’m up to with a brand new camcorder!

The grant I received is through the Ashfield Cultural Council, a part of the local cultural council program through the Massachusetts Cultural Council. I titled it “Stitching Stories” in the grant narrative, but have decided to expand on it to include weavers, sewists, and knitters. The working title is Fabrics of Memory and it’s a creative and historical exploration utilizing video and oral history to document and share the stories of makers and fiber artists who use thread in various forms as well as the memories of those craftspeople before them who engaged in the craft. More to come, including a call for interviews!
